Taught by Andrew Patching, Arthur Rhodius and Pat MacDonald

1-8 August 2009

Gelli Faia Retreat Centre
Porthmadog

Cost: £185.00 + optional donation for the teachings

This retreat is an opportunity to deepen your understanding and practice of the View, Meditation and Action. With teachings on Gates One, Two and Three of the Lion's Roar, as a refresher for students of the Lion's Roar training programme. The retreat incorporates periods of sitting and walking meditation and daily life awareness practice as well as time for study and relaxation.

'It is important to have what is called the view, getting some sense of where you are going, looking at the panorama of your experience, the panorama of your life; what direction to go in, which moves you away from confusion and moves you towards wisdom, openness and compassion. Then you meditate and the meditation follows that vision. Action arises out of that. It is what you do with the vision and the power which comes through the meditation, as you express that in your everyday life actions. If it has the right orientation that will automatically be good, valuable and wholesome.

The view associated with this particular practice is a view that has stood the test of time. People have meditated deeply and profoundly and have had experience that carries them further into the life and the spirit of the Dharma. And if you follow it completely, it is probably more direct than any other method that you could use.'
