Director
"Meditation and daily life practice are a path of discovery because there is something to be discovered. It is called the Nature of Mind, Buddha Nature or the Indestructible Heart Essence. But what is it? That is what we each have to discover within ourselves. The path is the awakening process by means of which we come to recognise it."

Rigdzin Shikpo

Local Groups - West London

Earl's Court

Wednesday evenings - 7.30pm - 9.15pm

The West London meditation group is run by Francesca Fremantle. We meet in Earl’s Court on Wednesdays from 7.30 to around 9.15pm.

We begin with half an hour of formless meditation, followed by a short talk and discussion. Questions are encouraged and suggestions for subjects to be covered are welcome.

Topics include readings from the works of Chögyam Trungpa and Rigdzin Shikpo, and talks ranging from the basic teachings of Buddhism, such as the four noble truths and the wheel of life, through aspects of the Mahayana sutras, to elements of Vajrayana, such as its visual symbolism, mandala principle and the five buddha families. The teachings are always presented from the Mahayana Maha-Ati perspective of the Longchen foundation, combining the Dzogchen (Maha-Ati) view with the compassion of the Mahayana.

For further details please contact Francesca by telephone. New members are very welcome, but she would like to speak to them or if possible meet them in person before they attend a meeting. Members are strongly encouraged to attend on a regular basis.
