General introduction to the group

We have been meeting in Bristol since 2000, having held a space at The Relaxation Centre in Clifton for several years. From 2014 we started meeting at St. Werburghs City Farm and now have meetings ongoing throughout the year – with breaks at Christmas and over the Summer. Meetings are run by the local group members and taught by Steve Hinde and Tim Malnick. We sometimes run short courses on selected topics, principally covering the elements of formless meditation and content from the Path of Freedom.

The structure of the meetings will either involve longer periods of meditation (up to an hour) or half hour meditation periods with time for a talk and discussion.  We also offer short courses, meditation days, and short retreats for those interested in deepening their understanding of Buddhism.

Beginners to experienced meditators are all welcome and are welcome to drop in on any Thursday night meeting. People coming for the first time and who are unfamiliar with formless meditation will receive some basic guidance on the practice. More detailed instruction from a teacher can also be arranged based on individual and group needs. Additionally we are also happy to arrange one-to-one meditation interviews with a teacher, for those who would like one.
