Longchen Lineage Day

Sat 12 Apr All day

For many years, around the time of his birthday, we held a Tenshuk (long life) ceremony for Rigdzin Shikpo’s good health and continued physical presence in the world. Now that he has passed away our Lineage Day celebration will be about coming together to strengthen our heartfelt wish that the Mahayana Maha Ati lineage he established not only continues, but goes from strength to strength, for the benefit of future generations.

This year David Hutchens and Francesca Fremantle will be talking about the Mahayana Maha Ati lineage, its history and what it means for us, as students and teachers, to be part of a new Dharma tradition.

This will be followed by a ceremony to celebrate the Mahayana Maha Ati lineage, in which we will join with the Mandala Mother in making a special pranidhana for the future of the lineage. This will take place within a ganacakra. The text we will be using for this auspicious occasion is the very lovely Mahayana Maha Ati ganacakra that Rigdzin Shikpo originally composed to mark the millennium, the beginning of a new Dharma age.

This will be an excellent occasion to join together to celebrate our connection with Rigdzin Shikpo and his teachings, either in person or on Zoom. There will be a charge to cover for expenses on the day such as the hall, flowers, food etc when you register. We will also be asking for contributions to the offering to the Mandala Mother, which is part of the ceremony for the continued flourishing of the lineage.

This event is open to everyone who has taken the Commitment to One’s Own Mind as part of Gate 4 of the Lions Roar.
