Longchen Lineage Day

Sat 11 Apr @ 10:00 am 5:00 pm

Every year, around the time of his birthday, we held a Tenshuk (long life) ceremony for Rigdzin Shikpo’s good health and continued physical presence in the world. Now that he has passed away our Lineage Day celebration will be about coming together to strengthen our heartfelt wish that the Mahayana Maha Ati lineage he established not only continues, but goes from strength to strength, for the benefit of future generations.

The celebration will take place at St Margaret’s Institute, Polstead Road, Oxford.

Bookings can be made via Eventbrite: TBC

A Zoom link will be shared with those unable to attend in person.

We will commence the celebration with a meditation practice, together on the ground and online. We will then have contributions from teachers commemorating Rinpoche’s life and lineage and providing an outlook into the future of the Longchen Foundation. This will be followed by a gaṇacakra during which we will enjoy a feast together. Please book early so we can plan for the feast. If you are partaking via Zoom please prepare some food and drink so you can join the feast remotely. There will be a short break before the gaṇacakra to prepare everything. As part of the gaṇacakra we invite everyone to make offerings of enjoyment in form of memories, stories, poems, songs, performances, dance to celebrate Rigdzin Shikpo and the lineage – on the ground or via Zoom.

We are looking forward to see many of you there.
