Introductory Retreats
Some Path of Freedom and Lion’s Roar teaching takes place within short retreats, sometimes organised by local groups or held at our retreat centre Gelli Faia in North West Wales. Retreats are an excellent opportunity to be introduced to, and deepen your practice of, meditation.
Gelli Faia
Gelli Faia is a beautiful meditation retreat centre where you will find good food and accommodation. The house and grounds are on the outskirts of Porthmadog, North Wales, at the edge of the Snowdonia National Park with beautiful views over the estuary.
General information
All retreats are led by an authorised teacher within the tradition. They comprise a mixture of talks and discussion set within the context of a regular meditation schedule.
Introductory retreats are typically a week long running from Saturday evening to Saturday morning the following week.
There will be a detailed introduction to formless meditation for those new to the practice.
There are opportunities for a one-to-one meditation interview with the teacher.
Part of the retreat schedule includes one or two light work activities – for example helping with washing up or chopping vegetables etc.
